San Francisco Bay Bridge

I love this shot, but finding it, parking and walking to it is a bit of a pain. I think it’s worth it, don’t you? It’s from Treasure Island, but you have to wind your way around to the top and then down the side that faces the city. It’s even more tricky in the dark … and there are no signs saying “Here it is”.

Market Street into Downtown

I love going up to Twin Peaks and shooting. The weather and the time of day make it always a new experience.

Sunrise and the Bay Bridge

Anytime the weather has been clear for a few days, get up before dawn and head down to the Embarcadero. You’ll snap some great shots for sure. San Francisco isn’t always foggy, but June and July tend to be the worst for morning and evening fog. It’s caused mostly by the hot weather in the Central Valley, which comes over the hills and crashes into the cool ocean breezes and voila, fog.

SFMOMA

This shot was taken from the top floor, looking out toward the front of the museum, which is the large circular part of the building. Looking from the street, it’s the most prominent part, and difficult to miss.

Castro Theater

The Castro Theater is an amazing treasure. This is a front shot and there are others of inside and out coming soon. The marquis was overhauled for the Sean Penn movie, Milk, the Hollywood historical piece about Harvey Milk, the “Mayor” of the Castro District.

Foggy Agapanthus

Diamond Heights is near Twin Peaks and gets as much fog, even when the day is lovely downtown. I loved living up there, but spent more time downtown; so I moved to the SOMA area. I miss the fog … a lot.

Dine and Danceware

I love working with reflections, but they don’t come up as often as I like. This one is on Mission Street between 2nd and 3rd. Dine is a restaurant that’s no longer opened. Twisted Transamerica Building

I was walking down Broadway, near Battery Street and noticed the reflection of the Transamerica Building in the mirrored window of a generic building on the street.

City Hall Framed

This is one of those shots that just said, “Shoot me” as I was walking down the street. Silly, but fun.
