City Hall Framed for Hanging
This is one of those shots that just said, “Shoot me” as I was walking down the street. Silly, but fun.

To get this shot is a bit of a pain, but so worthwhile. I love this view and have more shots from here and I’ll keep going back. The next post is at night, which offers a completely different ambiance.
This shot just had to be here, even though it’s nothing super special. I love going to Twin Peaks to see this view in all types of weather. It never gets boring and is often overlooked by tourists and locals both. Try a stormy day, just for fun. The wind can practically blow the door off the car and the wet fog will drench you in no time at all. Just don’t get blown off the sidewalk.
I love shooting photos from the 39th Floor bar and lounge, which is on the top floor of the Marriott Hotel on Fourth Street, between Market and Mission Streets. Shooting at different times of day yields unique opportunities to capture San Francisco’s best. Some days, fog smashes against the floor-to-ceiling windows on the West side. Facing the East, you’ll see the Bay Bridge and some unique angles of buildings between the bar and the water. It’s all good.
I love this image. It’s a study in contrasts. It breaks the typical stereotypes. Tell me you didn’t expect the guy in the chaps to choose the pink skirt and vice versa. Any way you slice it, it a fun photo of people having fun and being themselves … or alter selves. Whatever it is, I support it 100%.
Sunrise in San Francisco is a very special time of the day. Capturing shots of the sun coming up over the water is a snap … on clear days, that is. (We do have them. Honest.) Sometimes fog add a nice dimension; so don’t discount one of the things Alfred Hitchcock loved about our fair city. This shot is an example of the type of images that turn out great, when you face West. The options are unlimited.
I just love this shot. I’m not sure I could ever get it again. The lighting was just perfect and the fog was just right – not too much, not too little. This photo is totally original and unchanged.
